COVID-19 Update March 31, 2021

As we all know, the COVID-19 global pandemic turned the workplace on its head a year ago. Workplace connections that had occurred casually in the lunchroom or in the office corridor were no more, and all meetings were held virtually. So what have HR professionals and their organizations learned from this experience in the last year? SHRM published an interesting piece on how the pandemic changed the way work gets done.

Business seems to be picking up for most of our clients as we are slowly coming out of this pandemic. The vaccine rollout is starting to get us to a point where people are going out and doing things like visiting their elderly parents or grandparents and/or traveling again. Nearly 45% of Americans 65 and older have been fully vaccinated. We are optimistic that most businesses should be back to running offline and in-person operations at full speed by at least late summer.

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) application period was set to close on March 31, but Congress recently approved a 60-day extension to May 31, 2021. If you have not applied for your second PPP loan yet and would like to learn your eligibility, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team here at Delta for guidance.

Wishing you and your family a ‘Hoppy’ Easter!
