I know you missed me while I took a couple days off over the weekend!

Today, the IRS came out with an announcement about the ability to defer payroll tax payments while waiting on the PPP loans. There are a few issues that are not clear on these deferments as well as how they get paid back. We are awaiting more details on this before we make any recommendations about whether you should defer any payroll taxes if you utilize the SBA loans. More to come…..

  • How to avoid wrongful death lawsuits –Attorneys are already trying to take advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic and shakedown employers for the potential exposure of an employee to the virus. OSHA has already put out some rules and guidance. This publication put out by Fisher Phillips will help clarify some of that. If you are sued, please contact us and we can help you. Workers Compensation is the sole remedy for injuries or death. Sad that we need to be worried about this.
  • Measuring Workers Temperatures – We have some clients requiring employees have their body temperatures checked. We have even ordered a few of the Temperature Devices for our staff as well. This article tells you how to go about this properly to avoid wage and hour claims. Please be careful on how you implement this policy. We can walk you through this if you plan to put in a temperature check process.
